Embracing Your True Self: The Story Behind "Embrace Your Inner Self"

Embracing Your True Self: The Story Behind "Embrace Your Inner Self"

Look inward

To one self

For validation

From within

Find your purpose

Your inherent beauty

In your soul

Your divine feminine

Lies within you

When I sat down to create my latest Doodle Gears painting, Embrace Your Inner Self, I wanted to capture the essence of self-acceptance and transformation. Life’s paths are never straightforward, and each of us faces moments of change that shape who we are. This painting is a celebration of that journey—a reminder to honor and embrace our inner selves, no matter what life throws our way.

In Embrace Your Inner Self, a woman’s face emerges from the canvas, painted in soft, ethereal shades of purple. Her expression is serene yet powerful, symbolizing the strength and beauty that comes from within. Surrounding her are vibrant, spring-like colors—greens, blues, and pinks—that represent the growth and renewal we experience throughout life. These colors are meant to evoke a sense of freshness, reminding us that every season of our lives brings new opportunities for transformation.

The "Embrace Life" Enlightenment Symbol

At the heart of this painting is my Embrace Life Enlightenment symbol, a design that serves as a focal point for the message behind this piece. The symbol consists of an open circle, signifying the never-ending journey of life, with an arrow pointing in the direction of the other side of the circle, indicating the paths we take are a journey broken into parts. The flowing lines crossing the circle are a reminder that life’s course is rarely predictable, but each twist and turn brings us closer to understanding and embracing our true selves. The tiny heart, dots and triangles are elements of love, new beginnings and progression of our lifes journey.

The Embrace Life symbol speaks to the idea that even when life feels chaotic or uncertain, there’s beauty in the process of evolving. It encourages us to embrace every part of our journey—the good, the bad, the uncertain—because each experience helps shape who we are. In this painting, the symbol weaves through the background, connecting with the other whimsical elements to reinforce the theme of transformation.

Whimsy, Charm, and the Beauty of Self-Discovery

When I was designing Embrace Your Inner Self, I wanted to include elements that reflect the joy and unpredictability of life. Smiley face and flower gears float around the woman’s face, symbolizing the playful and positive energy that comes with embracing who we are. These gears represent the continuous motion of life and the joy we can find in it, with each turn bringing us closer to a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Adding to the painting’s charm are checkers, stripes, and butterflies—each element carefully chosen to highlight the whimsical nature of self-discovery. The checkers and stripes add a touch of duality, the yin and yang of the good and bad we encounter, while the butterflies symbolize transformation and freedom. Butterflies are one of my favorite symbols of change because they remind us that even the most delicate creatures must undergo a profound metamorphosis before they can spread their wings. You will see checkers in many of my recent paintings – inspired by my love for Antoni Gaudi after seeing his work in Barcelona Spain two years ago. His artistic vision left such an indelible mark on my soul, and so the checkers are an ode to the master artist that he was - and to his work that is - and does endure.

The playful combination of these elements brings a sense of lightness to the painting. Life doesn’t always have to be serious—there’s room for joy, creativity, and exploration. This painting is an invitation for women to reconnect with that part of themselves—the part that finds beauty in the unexpected and grace in the process of change.

The Woman Behind the Painting

The purple face at the center of Embrace Your Inner Self represents the powerful divine femininity that lies within all of us. Purple, a color often associated with wisdom, spirituality, and inner peace, was chosen to symbolize the depth of self-knowledge and the quiet strength that comes from embracing who we truly are, coincidentally, purple is also my favorite color. I wanted her expression to feel both peaceful and introspective, as though she’s looking inward, acknowledging the journey she’s been on.

Her closed eyes serve as a reminder that the power to transform lies within each of us. We don’t need external validation to find our true selves—everything we need is already inside. My hope is that when women see this painting, they are reminded of their own strength and the importance of honoring their personal journey.

Inspiration and Empowerment for Every Woman

With Embrace Your Inner Self, I wanted to create a piece that feels uplifting, empowering, and deeply personal. Life’s path is rarely linear. We are constantly evolving, learning, and growing—sometimes in unexpected ways. And while that journey can be difficult, it’s also a source of immense beauty and strength.

This painting is meant to inspire women to celebrate every facet of who they are, to embrace their inner selves with kindness and grace. Whether you’re going through a period of great change or simply looking to reconnect with your inner self, this piece is a reminder that you are enough, exactly as you are.

So, let the vibrant colors, playful designs, and Embrace Life symbol remind you that life is a continuous journey of transformation. Embrace it, trust yourself, and know that the power to navigate life’s varying paths lies within you.
