Get to know Megan Aroon

Megan Aroon is a fine artist whose brush finds its rhythm where mechanics meet nature — where the cold precision of a gear collides with the soft curve of a petal. For over 18 years, she's built a career on that collision, creating original paintings that speak to a specific kind of woman: one who loves speed, knows her way around a bike or a paddock, and refuses to check her femininity at the door.

Megan's own life reads like the inspiration for her canvases. Raised off-grid in the wild bush of Alaska, she grew into an outdoorsy, adventurous spirit who found her true home on two wheels — racing mountain bikes, fielding her own team, and spending years living out of a self-converted camper van chasing epic rides across the country. That same restless love of motion eventually carried her into motorsport culture, where the language of gears, chrome, and velocity became the foundation of her art.

Her paintings exist at the intersection of fierce and feminine — gear-driven forms intertwined with florals and organic shapes, built for women who live at speed. It's art for the woman who's just as at home in a paddock as she is anywhere else, who wants her walls (or her garage) to reflect both power and grace.

Megan holds a master's degree in Political Science with a focus on gender theory, and that lens — sharp, curious, unapologetically feminist — runs through everything she makes. She's a longtime advocate for women's causes, regularly directing proceeds from her art to organizations that support and empower women.

Professionally, Megan has spent 18 years as a full-time artist, with her work sold around the world and grossing tens of millions of dollars in sales. Her art has appeared on television shows including Grey's Anatomy, Telemundo, Celebrity Wife Swap, and Good Morning America, and has been carried in retailers like Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and HomeGoods.

Beyond the canvas, Megan is also the author of a children's book series called The Wondrous World of Geartopia, starring the whimsical GEAR BEARS — a project born from her love of gears and imagination, and designed to spark curiosity about STEM in the next generation of young girls. It's a separate world from her fine art, but it shares the same spark: the idea that gears can be magic, and that girls belong in every space where wheels turn and engines run.
